Swarm Science: Elevating Your Swarm Trapping Journey

Swarm Science is a lure that will take your swarm trapping efforts to new heights. Achieving Swarm Trapping Success in 4 Steps:

1. Pheromones: Using Swarm Science replicates the complex chemistry of the Nasonov pheromone that honey bees use to attract swarms to new home sites. In addition to the Swarm Science lure, you can also incorporate old comb into your swarm traps.

2. Placement: Position your swarm traps 10-15 feet off the ground, near the trunk of a tree.

3. Trap Size: The trap must be 40L in size to have the best chance of attracting swarms. This can be achieved by stacking two 5-frame deep nuc boxes or using a single 10-frame deep box with an entrance of 1.5-2 square inches.

4. Timing: Place your traps in early spring, a few weeks before the first swarm is spotted in your area. Scouts begin searching for new home sites even before the swarm leaves the colony.
